The Former U.S. President, Donald Trump, criticized the Floridian Governor, Ron DeSantis, and claimed that DeSantis is a “RINO GLOBALIST.”
On Wednesday, Trump wrote on his Truth Social account:
“The real Ron is a RINO GLOBALIST who closed quickly down Florida and even its beaches. Loved the Vaccines and wasted big money on ‘Testing.’ How quickly people forget!”
RINO is an abbreviation for “Republican in name only.”
“DeSantis has never been America first; he is faking it, trying to build his conservative credentials until he is elected president. Jeb Bush, Karl roves, and Paul Ryan they are hiding in the background, pushing him. Governor is as far as he goes.”
The GOP Governor is being widely considered as a potential contender for the 2024 presidential elections. However, he has not declared any plans for the presidential run at the moment.
If DeSantis decides to compete, he would have to defeat Donald Trump to bag the Republican presidential nomination. On the other hand, Trump also announced in November 2022 that he would be running for the 2024 presidential run.
Trump has claimed that without his backing, DeSantis would never have secured the 2018 GOP gubernatorial nomination. Trump believes that DeSantis’ prospect for the 2024 presidential run makes him “very disloyal.”
Trump has been referring to DeSantis as “Ron DeSanctimonious.” He also claims that he voted for DeSantis in the 2022 Florida governor’s race.
