The African American social media influencer team known as “Diamond and Silk” became fairly well-known for their ardent support of Donald Trump during and after his presidency. The unexpected death of one of the women prompted Trump to offer to cover the expense of the memorial service and funeral.
Lynette “Diamond” Hardaway,” 51, died on Jan 14. Rochelle “Silk” Richardson reported that former President Donald Trump was very helpful in the days following Diamond’s death.
The Western Journal noted that “not only did Trump heavily promote the ceremony for his friend on his Truth Social platform … Trump [also covered] … the cost of the celebration of life ceremony and … funeral arrangements.”
Though some have criticized Trump’s remarks at the celebration of life ceremony, Silk and many Twitter users praised the former President for assisting the grieving sister.

Richardson said: “I got to tell this. And I pray and hope that it is OK with President Trump because he does things and it don’t get out in public, and now that I have the world’s attention, I have to say this.”
“When I told him that Diamond had passed, he said, ‘ohhh,’ he was heartbroken. He said, ‘OK, we’re going to have a nice gathering for her, a nice funeral,’ and I said oh no, we don’t have a body. We followed her wishes, and we cremated her.”
Richardson continued: “[Trump] said, ‘OK, I want you to do whatever you want, I want you to have the best of whatever you want, and whatever you want Diamond would have, and I don’t want you to worry about paying for nothing.’”
As many in the audience at the ceremony cheered and clapped, Richardson pointed at Trump, who was seated on stage, and said:
“That’s what this man did for my sister! He didn’t waver. He didn’t think about it.”
A Twitter user wrote of the event: “That’s a good man. I don’t care what people say about Trump. His decency is never reported and his bad behavior is always exaggerated.”

Richardson was effusive in her praise of Trump, saying, “This is what a president is supposed to do,” again pointing at Trump, drawing more cheers. “See, Jim Crow Joe Biden ain’t called me yet. He ain’t gonna call me.”
One Twitter user contrasted Trump’s empathy with that of Biden:

Richardson also revealed her suspicion that her sister’s death is connected to her recent COVID-19 vaccination. She said:
“It was sudden, out of nowhere, and no warning. I got her to the kitchen table, opened up the back door, so that she could get some air. And each breath was less and less and less until her eyes became a stare.”

Richardson added:
“But what I want to say to everybody is don’t you dare call me a conspiracy theorist because I saw it happen. I saw how it happened. I was there when it happened. And it happened suddenly. I want America to wake up and pay attention.”
“Something ain’t right. It’s time to investigate what’s really going on here and get some answers to why are people falling dead suddenly.”
