Democrats, with backing from their federal agencies, have been attempting to prevent President Trump from running for the White House in 2024, including through alleged threats against his life. However, they are also reportedly trying to stop other candidates from entering the presidential race by either banning them or offering them bribes.

On Saturday, August 24, investigative journalist Jordan Chariton released a video interview with Independent presidential candidate Cornel West. A well-known theologian and socialist, West is a significant figure in American left-wing politics. But for the Democrats, he poses a challenge as a potential contender who could draw votes away from Kamala Harris in the 2024 election. During his discussion with Chariton, West disclosed that he had received various offers from the Harris campaign, although he did not provide specific details.

When Chariton pressed him on whether these offers included a cabinet position in a possible Harris administration or financial incentives, West acknowledged receiving such proposals. This revelation was captured in a short video clip that quickly spread across social media.

In his interview, West also criticized the Democrats for their inaction regarding Israel’s military actions in Gaza and drew parallels between the current Democratic Party and the party of the 1930s that failed to address Jim Crow laws. The full interview between Chariton and West is available on YouTube.

Unsurprisingly, mainstream media outlets did not cover West’s claim of what essentially amounts to bribery by the Harris campaign. Conservative commentators pointed to this media silence and framed the revelation as evidence of Democratic interference in the election process.

Efforts to keep Cornel West off the 2024 ballot appear aimed at bolstering Kamala Harris’s chances, particularly in key swing states. Recently, West secured a legal victory over Jonathan Brater, Michigan’s elections director, who attempted to remove him from the ballot. According to the Detroit Free Press, Judge James Robert Redford of the Michigan Court of Claims ruled that West can remain on the November 5 ballot. Following this ruling, Democrats announced their intention to appeal.

Cornel West is not the only candidate facing challenges from the Democrats. They have also sought to disqualify Green Party candidate Jill Stein, alongside West, from appearing on the Wisconsin ballot. However, their attempts were thwarted earlier this week when the Wisconsin Supreme Court dismissed the challenge against the eligibility of both candidates. After the ruling, the bipartisan Wisconsin Elections Commission confirmed that West and Stein would remain on the ballot.
