Machete-Wielding Professor’s Past Comes Back To Haunt Her

A college professor went ballistic with a machete when she was confronted about her past. The disturbing video shows one reporter fleeing for his life, and it didn’t end well for the violently out-of-control educator.

Unsettling footage captures the moment Manhattan college professor Shellyne Rodriguez chased a New York Post writer and photographer down the street in a violent manner with a machete.

Reuven Fenton, a seasoned reporter, and a photographer had just left Rodriguez’s Bronx apartment complex, where she had just threatened him with a machete for asking her about a popular video in which she swore at anti-abortion students.

Rodriguez then followed the journalists into the street while brandishing a machete, as shown in the video. After the photographer takes a picture of the art professor approaching them, she begins racing after him down the sidewalk, compelling him to cross a busy street as oncoming traffic passes by.

“If I see you on this block one more f–king time, you’re gonna …!” Rodriguez yelled at them. “Get the f–k off the block! Get the f–k out of here, yo!” She also gave the reporter a shin kick as he attempted to enter his vehicle. Fenton had knocked on Rodriguez’s apartment door earlier, and Rodriguez had held the machete to his neck, threatening to “chop” him up.

The crazy professor yelled from behind her door, “Get the f-k away from my door, or I’m gonna chop you up with this machete!” as Fenton introduced himself. A little while later, she pushed open the door and held the weapon to the reporter’s throat.

She cried repeatedly, “Get the f-k away from my door!” before slamming it. She followed the two Post employees as they left the premises right away. In May 2023, the professor was involved in an incident that the reporter was there to question. The pro-life students who had put up a table on the college campus were yelled at by Rodriguez, who was shown on camera cursing at them. They were blamed for “triggering” her students as she hurled their literature around.

Rodriguez was seen on camera berating the pro-life students. “You’re not educating s–t. This is f–king propaganda,” she told the students according to footage posted to Twitter by Students for Life of America.“What are you going to do, like, anti-trans next?” the prof raged. Rodriguez claimed their demonstration was “violent,” yelling at the male student behind the table that he wasn’t sorry “because you can’t even have a f–king baby,” the video shows.

According to the video, she then said “F-k this s-t” and pushed the anti-abortion papers off the table in the direction of the students. She then walked away. According to reports, Rodriguez intended to sue the NYPD because she felt officers mistreated her when she was detained in the Bronx in June 2020 while participating in a demonstration against the murder of George Floyd.

However, the New York educator’s angry and irrational actions didn’t turn out well for her. Within hours of being shown on camera holding the blade to the reporter, Rodriguez was let go by Hunter College as an adjunct professor. “Hunter College fired the art professor after she held a machete to the neck of a New York Post reporter and threatened to ‘chop you up,’” wrote legal scholar Jonathon Turley.

“The most remarkable aspect of the story may not be a professor brandishing a knife, but a college actually finding a basis to fire an activist academic,” he added. “The truth is that, if the [pro-life] display was a pro-choice or Black Lives Matter display, the professor would have been canned before the last flyer made it to the floor. When it comes to heckling, attacking or threatening conservatives, however, all bets are off.”
