Speaking as a 50-year-old, yes, open disrespect seems much more common now than when I was a kid. When I was growing up, it was almost unheard of for a kid to mouth off to their parents, now it seems routine. The key word is “seems”. I grew up in a very rural area, and I might have missed what was going on in the rest of the country.
Overall respect for older people was something we were taught in schools and at home.
Those days are gone now!
However, some videos today serve us as an example of why we should respect elderly people even more.
