‘There Is An Investigation of Joe Biden:’ DOJ Withholding Hundreds of Pages on Hunter Biden Business Dealings

A new lawsuit alleges the Department of Justice (DOJ) under President Biden is withholding documents relating to Hunter Biden’s business dealings.

“The Department of Justice is trying to prevent disclosure of 400 pages of sensitive documents on Hunter and Jim Biden’s dealings with China, Russia and Ukraine – by pretending they don’t exist,” the Daily Mail writes.

“Colorado lawyer Kevin Evans sued the department in March after it failed to comply with his request for records on the Bidens’ dealings under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA),” the Daily Mail adds. “He said government lawyers first admitted in court to having at least 400 pages of ‘potentially relevant’ documents – but are now trying to get away with saying they can ‘neither confirm nor deny’ the existence of any records that match his request.”

Evans, a FOIA expert, expects the DOJ to fight his request for documents related to “any relationship, communication, gift(s), and/or remuneration in any form’ between the president’s son Hunter or brother Jim, and China, Russia or Ukraine.”

“Evans said the government dithered for a few more months, then made a confusing new argument: that they could ‘neither confirm nor deny’ the existence of any records. Government agencies have a legal precedent to make such claims to avoid disclosures that could harm national security,” The Daily Mail reports. “‘I’m quite confident that they will move for summary judgment on the privacy exemptions under FOIA in an effort to avoid having to produce these documents,’” Evans added.

This comes after House Oversight Chair Rep. James Comer (R-KY) announced new investigations into Biden family’s business dealings.

“The Biden families business dealings implicate a wide range of criminality from human trafficking, to potential violations of the US Constitution. In the 118th Congress, this committee will evaluate the status of Joe Biden’s relationship with his family’s foreign partners and whether he is a president who is compromised or swayed by foreign dollars and influence.” Comer remarked. “I want to be clear: This is an investigation of Joe Biden, and that’s where the committee will focus in this next Congress.”

Evan’s case is expected to have its next hearing later this month.
