NC Man Had Kill List, Beginning With Random Woman He Attacked for the ‘Experience’ to Kill

A North Carolina man arrested last month for allegedly kidnapping and trying to kill a woman — who subsequently escaped him — allegedly told police she was to be a “random” kill to “give him the experience” to kill more, including his parents and former classmates.

Hunter Chase Nance, 24, was arrested on February 15 after the woman wrestled the knife he was using away from him, cutting her hands in the process, and fled, flagging down passersby for a ride back to her car, which was parked at a convenience store in China Grove, WBTV reported.

From there, emergency medical personnel responded to treat her wounds, while deputies heard her story and went to the house where she said she had been attacked. Nance was located and initially arrested on false imprisonment and assault with a deadly weapon charges, but attempted first degree murder and kidnapping charges were later added.

Deputies said that Nance and the woman initially met at a gas station and exchanged numbers, and that later they spoke and agreed to meet and go back to Nance’s home.

A search warrant says that Nance told investigators he planned to stab the woman 25 times and then drag her body into the road “for passing vehicles to see.” But before that, he said, he planned to “cut her fingers off before killing her in order to eat them in front of her to scare her.”

Nance allegedly told detectives the woman was to be his first kill  to “begin satisfying a list of people he wanted to kill.”

“The list began with a random person,” the warrant says, “who would give him the experience to know what it was like to kill someone.”

After that, Nance reported said, he “would be able” to kills his parents and “past classmates who bullied him in school.”

Nance is being held on a $1.2 million bond in Rowan County and is due in court on March 22, according to jail records.
