A Texas woman who allegedly stabbed her five children — killing three — when Child Protective Services visited her home on Friday reportedly has a twin sister who carried out a similar slaying in 2021.
Shamaiya Hall, 25, allegedly killed her 6-year-old son and 5-year-old twins after CPS tried to remove them and her 4-year-old son and infant daughter from her residence in Italy. WFAA reported that the two surviving children were hospitalized but their conditions are unknown.
According to WFAA, Hall was previously arrested for stabbing her sister’s boyfriend in 2017. Further, the news outlet reported that the woman’s sister, Troyshaye Mone Hall, stabbed her 7-year-old daughter to death in 2017. She was subsequently found incompetent to stand trial and remains housed in a state hospital.
In regard to Friday’s deadly incident, sources told WFAA that a CPS worker decided to make an unannounced visit to the home as they believed Shamaiya was having unsupervised visits with her children. The agency previously placed the five children with a relative, but it is unclear why.
Shamaiya is charged with three counts of capital murder. She remains jailed on a $6 million bond.
