UK: Pedophile Who “Identifies As A Woman” Jailed For Three Years After Being Found With Over 42,000 Child Abuse Images

A dangerous pedophile with 11 convictions for 57 child sexual abuse offenses has been convicted and jailed once again, this time on five counts of making indecent images of children and nine breaches of his sexual harm prevention order.

Stuart Bulling, who identifies as a woman, pleaded guilty to the offenses in March, but refused to appear at his sentencing hearing at Preston Crown Court yesterday. Bulling’s defender stated he “expressed his contempt for the court, his lawyers, and me.”

Despite referring to him using “he/him” pronouns, Bulling’s lawyer did state that the pedophile “identifies as a woman in his normal life.”

Bulling’s latest charge comes after being found by police in possession of over 42,000 images of children.

Police visited Bulling’s residence last year and asked to review his devices in accordance with the conditions of a previous sentence he was serving. While Bulling at first denied having any devices beyond his declared mobile phone, officers quickly uncovered three SD cards, which Bulling admitted contained “bad stuff,” and various other devices linked to the internet which had not been registered or presented to the police when asked.

A digital examination of the devices found VPNs and cleaning software, which had ostensibly been used to access the dark web and hide browsing activity.

Officers also found 125 indecent images of children in Category A, 93 Category B images, and an overwhelming 42,587 Category C images. The United Kingdom classifies indecent images based on the content, with Category C involving erotic images of children, Category B involving non-penetrative sexual activity with children, and Category A involving penetrative, sadistic, or bestiality-related child sexual abuse.

Some of the children in the images were as young as 3.

But police were unable to complete their cataloguing of all of the images in Bulling’s possession due to the sheer volume, with over 34,000 images still yet to be reviewed.

According to the Lancashire Telegraph, the prosecution stated that police also found various videos recorded by Bulling himself, of him walking around in the Blackburn town centre and filming children.

Bulling was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison, with three years on license in the community.

The apparent leniency of the sentence comes in stark contrast to Bulling’s extensive criminal history, which includes 11 other convictions for 57 offenses of a similar nature.

In 2019, Bulling was arrested after following young girls around in an Asda supermarket in Rawtenstall and attempting to take photos up their skirts. Security staff caught Bulling committing the vile act through CCTV, and the store manager immediately called the police.

When police arrived, they found a trove of child sexual abuse material on Bulling’s phone, including 497 of the most severe Category A images of children, 325 Category B, and 380 Category C. There were also 18 videos found.

At the time, Bulling pleaded guilty to two counts of voyeurism and three counts of making indecent images of children. But the court heard that he had previously been given several other sentences for multiple other convictions.

As far back as 2003, Bulling served jail time for indecent assault and possessing over 9,000 indecent images of children, and in 2008, he was sentenced to 3 years in jail on a similar offense. At that time, police found over 11,000 horrific images of children on DVDs that had been hidden under Bulling’s floorboards.

When police raided the home where Bulling resided that year, they also found a pair of girls’ panties under his bedding, a skirt, a tutu, a swimming costume, carrier bags stuffed with children’s underwear and girls’ socks, and cuttings of schoolgirls from newspapers and magazines. Of the 11,000 images found in Bulling’s possession, 500 were of the most serious category, with some featuring sadism and bestiality.

In 2011, Bulling was arrested yet again after sexually assaulting a young girl at an Asda supermarket, grabbing the girl’s buttocks as she walked. He was handed an 18-month sentence for that crime.

Despite his lengthy pedophilic history, during the sentencing hearing for his 2019 offense, Bulling’s lawyer argued he was “not a significant risk of serious harm here so as to justify an extended sentence,” and encouraged the court not to classify him as a dangerous offender. Bulling was ultimately handed a 2-year prison sentence and a 3-year license to serve time in the community under conditions.

Less than one month after being released from prison for the 2019 conviction, Bulling was found to have been in contact with another pedophile.
