Joe Biden will announce his campaign for President in February of this year, according to several inside sources.
Politico reports, “those in the president’s circle believe there is a strong and growing likelihood that he will run again and that an announcement could potentially come earlier than had been expected, possibly as soon as mid-February, around the expected date of the State of the Union, according to those people.”
If this is true, America could be in for another matchup between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, who announced his candidacy in November of last year. And if recent reporting is to be believed, Biden is enthusiastic about the prospects of a 2024 run.
“There were questions about whether or not Biden would run again but not only are those questions muted, there is more energy and enthusiasm to run again. He got elected to bring the pendulum back to the middle, to create some sort of normalcy, and he’s done that. He’s also cast a light on Republicans to make their candidates less desirable,” Democrat strategist Basil Smikle told Politico.
This comes after several insiders downplayed the chances of Biden running again in 2024. As Politico reported during Biden’s Presidential run in 2020, it was common knowledge that Joe Biden would only serve one term.
“According to four people who regularly talk to Biden, all of whom asked for anonymity to discuss internal campaign matters, it is virtually inconceivable that he will run for reelection in 2024, when he would be the first octogenarian president. ‘If Biden is elected,’ a prominent adviser to the campaign said, ‘he’s going to be 82 years old in four years and he won’t be running for reelection.’”
Biden 2024 is the last thing our country needs right now. With a struggling economy and a dismal reputation around the world, more and more Americans realize it is time for a change.
While Biden’s approval rating has improved in recent weeks, it is still at an abysmal 43.4 percent average on Real Clear Politics. As such, perhaps it is in Biden’s best interest to rethink his intention to run in the next election cycle. If he did that, he would finally be putting America first.
