Tucker Carlson ‘Enraged’ Private Texts With Trump Revealed

Tucker Carlson, the host of Fox News, expressed his anger at the public release of his private text messages to his fellow network colleagues regarding former President Trump, which occurred during an ongoing defamation lawsuit faced by the company.

“And I think this is in the text, and those were all grabbed completely illegitimately, in my opinion um in this court case, which I guess I’m not allowed to talk about, but I’m enraged that my private texts were pulled,” Carlson during a Tuesday appearance on WABC Radio.

Earlier this month, the text messages of the highest-rated conservative host were disclosed to the public as a component of a lawsuit filed against Fox by Dominion Voting Systems. The conservative media conglomerate is being sued for $1.6 billion, with Dominion alleging that the company intentionally aired untrue claims made by Trump and his aides subsequent to the 2020 election.

According to a text conversation with a Fox colleague, Carlson expressed intense dislike for Trump by stating, “I hate him passionately.”

As per a recent court filing by Dominion, Carlson messaged an unidentified Fox employee on Jan. 4, 2021, saying, “We are very very close to being able to ignore Trump most nights, I truly can’t wait.”

During a recent radio interview, Carlson attempted to present a different perspective on the president.

“Oh, let’s see. I spent four years defending his policies and I, I’m going to defend them again tonight,” Carlson said. “And actually, and I’m pretty straight forward, I’m um I love Trump. Like, as a person, I think Trump is funny and insightful.”

“And I said this to Trump when he called me, you know, all wounded about those texts,” Carlson continued. “That was a moment in time where I was absolutely infuriated.”

Fox has contended that the text messages exchanged between its staff, which were disclosed in different legal documents, were selectively chosen by Dominion to generate publicity for the lawsuit. Fox attempted to have the case dismissed on the grounds of the First Amendment, but it has been unsuccessful thus far.

The host’s remarks were made on the same day that a judge in Delaware is scheduled to issue a ruling on a summary judgment prior to a jury trial that is anticipated to take place next month.
